737 Actual Mile Ram 250 MK III Conversion Van 318 V8 Torqueflite A/C
At RK Motors Charlotte, we see many significant and one-of-a-kind classics. But, every now and then, something COMPLETELY different shows up and establishes itself as the temporary talking point of the showroom. Unique, but no less cool, these offerings generally become the car we specifically point out to customers because we know it's unlikely either of us will see another one any time soon. While a 1985 Ram Van seems an unlikely candidate for the same sales floor that features a "cherry Charger Daytona":http://www.rkmotorscharlotte.com/sales/inventory/active#!/1969-Dodge-Charger-Daytona/134875 this pristine people mover makes the cut for some very good reasons. For starters, it's a 737-mile, all-original survivor. Secondly, as the beneficiary of a clean Mark III Streamliner conversion, it's surprisingly luxurious, even by today's standards. And last but not least, the Chrysler B-Series, largely unchanged for 32 years, is an enduringly cool design that's quietly elevated itself to 'timeless classic'. So, if you're interested in preserving affordable MoPar metal, here's a comfortable and exclusive offering with a price that's easy to live with!
BODYWORK/TRIM
As a low-mileage survivor, this Ram's bodywork appears to be all-original. Noteworthy options include a Mark III Streamliner conversion kit, which adds running boards, a luggage rack, a 3-step ladder, a deluxe spare tire cover and custom metallic paint.
ENGINE
The van is equipped with a correct Chrysler LA V8. From the factory, that engine utilized 318 cubic inches to create 135 horsepower. Branded on the side of the block is a correct 4323330 casting number.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Power from that mill flows to a correct A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic transmission and correct 10-bolt rear end. That drivetrain rides in unibody construction, which is a major contributor to the space afforded by the Ram Van line. Factory power steering makes finding the perfect tailgating spot a cinch. Stops are provided by factory power front disc and rear drum brakes. There's a single-pipe exhaust system, which appears to be original equipment. And, at the corners, 15-inch steel wheels spin 235/75 General Altimax RTs around clean Mark III hubcaps.
INTERIOR
This Dodge features a custom interior that was designed by Mark III Conversions. Mark III-installed extras include: supple seat covers, stylish wood trim, increased lighting, blinds and curtains, a center table, a cooler, a rear fan, hidden cassette storage, large storage pockets, multiple cup holders, multiple lighters and ashtrays, a roof vent and “MARK III” branded door sills. Factory air conditioning is present and accounted for. A premium, Mark III-sourced audio system powers vintage Audiovox AVX speakers, and other amenities include cruise control, a tilt steering column and a digital clock.
OUR SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTATION AND ACCESSORIES
• A vintage marketing brochure.
• A Chrysler-Infinity I Premium Sound Systems cassette tape.
• Paperwork for the van's Mark III conversion.
• A suitcase full of cassette tapes.
Even in its rawest form, Chrysler's stalwart B-Series has a strong presence. And with only 737 miles on its odometer, this Mark III Streamliner is an extremely cool classic that still rolls with style. When it comes to travel, there really isn't anything better than a full-size van. And if you choose to travel to a show, this Ram is virtually guaranteed to be the topic of spirited conversation!
