Nut and Bolt Restored #s Matching Shelby GT350 Hertz 289 V8 Automatic
Here at RK Motors we have a tradition of showcasing the best collector cars on the planet. The way we see it, our job is to facilitate transactions that make car enthusiasts' dreams come true! Fully documented, wearing a detailed restoration and featuring an athletic 289/3-speed drivetrain, this authentic GT350H is an excellent example of one of the coolest muscle cars ever produced. And if you're a discerning enthusiast who demands the very best in high caliber, investment grade metal, it's the classic you've been patiently waiting for!
BLACK AND GOLD
Delivered to Larson Ford of White Plains, New York, this awesome Shelby likely spent very little time in the dealership before it was unleashed in the hands of Hertz customers. After roughly a year in the fleet, and a short stint at Dockery Ford of Morristown, New Jersey, the car passed through two owners who limited changes to light modifications. And today, after benefitting from a detailed, nut-and-bolt restoration, it rolls as a first-class showpiece that can anchor any serious muscle car collection or hedge any major investment portfolio.
When you're talking about the aesthetics of the GT350H, there's much more to the story than wicked black and gold paint. At the front of the car, a bright grille hangs a patriotic Mustang emblem between clear headlights, a bright chrome bumper and bullet-style parking lamps. At the top of that grille, a pinned hood leads the eye to a factory-tint greenhouse, which hides crisp plexi quarter windows in mirror-like stainless. At the sides of that glass, a straight profile hangs small scoops and traditional Shelby stripes around traditional door handles and a correct chrome mirror. And at the back of that profile, a second chrome bumper frames bright taillights, bright reverse lamps, a simple “G.T. 350” emblem and a detailed fuel filler.
289 / 306
Now that you've waded through all the flowery prose about paint and trim, it's time to get down to business! Lift the car's lightweight hood and you'll find 289 cubic inches of numbers-matching V8 that's been completely rebuilt from its big Autolite carburetor all the way down to its deep Cobra oil pan. At the top of that fully sorted mill, a polished and decaled air cleaner swirls wind through a Shelby-spec, high-rise intake. That plane feeds factory heads that are capped by requisite Cobra valve covers and a polished Ford breather. A reliable points distributor shoots fire through solid-core SX plug wires, which snake around clean, long-tube headers. At the front of those tubes, a factory fan cools a factory radiator, which is centered next to an Autolite-capped battery. And aesthetically, the Ford Blue block sits in a completely restored engine bay that's detailed with smooth, Satin Black paint.
CLEAN AND SOILD
Take a look under this Mustang and you'll find exceedingly clean floors that wear appropriate Red Oxide primer under a mist of Raven Black overspray. A tough C4 3-speed spins torque to a requisite 9-inch axle, which twists an open differential around friendly, 3.50 gears. Under that drivetrain, a tagged and rebuilt suspension centers a beefy sway bar in front of subtle traction bars and manual disc and drum brakes. At the center of those bones, restoration-fresh exhaust pipes spent gases through an H-shaped crossover, small resonators and throaty mufflers. And power meets the pavement through 6.95-14 Goodyear Blue Streaks that are wrapped around chromed Magnum 500s.
PURE CLASS
Open the doors and you'll find a crisp Black interior that's clean, functional and very attractive. The first thing you'll notice is a snazzy chrome steering wheel. Behind that wheel, a tasteful dash frames fully rebuilt telemetry and a correct AM radio between a prominent Shelby tachometer and a cool brake sticker. Plush vinyl seats, draped in heavy duty belts, are in spectacular shape, presenting hardly any evidence of use. And fade-free carpet floats pony-themed floor mats around a polished factory shifter.
Few classics have the kind of attitude and presence of an old school Shelby. And if previous trends are any indication, these cars will continue to gain value as they become more exclusive and collectible. This investment grade GT350H is a fully documented, fully sorted show queen that drives and sounds every bit as good as it looks. If you're a dedicated purist who desires only the best, here's a chance to own the ultimate muscle car!
