One-Owner 1,451 Mile Corvette ZR-1 Supercharged LS9 V8 6-speed 3ZR Leather
In 2007, as rumors began to leak about Chevrolet's next Corvette super car, insiders began referring to the project as “Blue Devil”. And after checking out the fruit of their labor, this sweet 2009 ZR1, one can't help but think it's a perfectly fitting name. With classic good looks that combine the perfect amount of American attitude with the perfect amount of European class, the car is deceptively sophisticated. With its race-bred chassis and 1g of lateral grip, the car is exceptionally tempting. And with its 638 horsepower V8 and a claimed 205 MPH top speed, the car is absolutely evil! So, if you're looking for a low-mileage super car that places proven performance over perceived prestige, you've come to the right place!
PAINT AND BODYWORK
This brutal slice of American ingenuity has logged only 1,451 miles since rolling out of the showroom and features a slick coat of Black two-stage that's every bit as sinister as it is sophisticated. Paint technology has certainly come a long way since the days of mismatched Volkswagens and flat luster muscle cars. And this Corvette's smooth composite body and showroom fresh finish are the products of an intensive five-stage process that's executed start-to-finish at GM's Bowling Green assembly plant. The result is one spectacular showroom-fresh package that's virtually flawless all the way from the car's functional scoops to its carbon fiber treatments and ZR1 badging. This is a top-notch super car that was built from day one to run with the finest exotics on earth!
DRIVETRAIN AND CHASSIS
Unlike its Lotus influenced predecessor the C6 ZR1 relies on a proven Eaton supercharger and a good 'ole fashioned overhead valve Chevrolet small block to turn smooth 9 to 1 compression into a Ferrari flattening 638 horsepower and a Lamborghini slaying 604 lb./ft. of torque! Derived from the very successful Corvette C6R racing program, and hand-assembled at GM's Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan, this car's mighty LS9 V8 incorporates specialty processes typically seen in racing engines to produce a highly refined and precise driving experience. The foundation for the car's incredible performance is a brand new aluminum engine block that utilizes pressed in cylinder liners to accommodate added pressure from a positive-displacement, roots type supercharger.
Team Corvette's influence continues underneath the car where a familiar aluminum body structure hangs one-piece hydroformed perimeter rails and a carbon composite floor over a high capacity dual-disc clutch, a Tremec TR6060 6-speed transaxle, high capacity axle shafts and one of the largest carbon ceramic drilled disc brake systems offered on any production car. That transaxle utilizes a track-level suspension that employs aluminum control arms and independent short-long arms at every corner to optimize ZR1-exclusive suspension tuning. Add in GM's Magnetic Selective Ride Control and the whole package sums up to a no-excuses coupe that offers a compliant driving experience, but still capable of posting some of the fastest production vehicle times seen around the Nürburgring.
INTERIOR
The leather-wrapped cockpit of this ZR1 is designed to be just as comfortable during a daily commute as it is on track day thanks to a $10K 3ZR Premium Equipment Group upgrade. Leather buckets boast ZR1 embroidery and feature heated and ventilated operation, as well as power adjustable lumbar and side bolsters with memory settings. Those buckets face a leather-wrapped dash that hosts ZR1-branded gauges with a 220 mph speedometer. Underneath the MP3 and XM capable navigation unit is a thin console that props the manual shifter. And the driver takes control through a leather-wrapped steering wheel on a tilting a telescoping column.
With a platform that was setting the bar for super car performance, and aesthetics that are some of the best designs to come out of Bowling Green; the C6 ZR1 has forged its significance in Corvette history. Don't miss your opportunity to capture one of the most iconic Corvettes ever produced. Give us a call and schedule your visit!
