Restored Coronet Super Bee 496 Hemi stroker 650hp A727 3-speed 4.10 Posi discs
It's no secret that RK Motors has worked extremely hard to become your headquarters for all kinds of world-class collector cars. But there are few offerings we love more than old school MoPars. You know, the kind of broad-shouldered bruisers that wrap buff, neck-snapping drivetrains in outrageous paint and fantastic marketing. Today, such cars are highly sought prizes for serious Chrysler collectors, and this sinister Coronet Super Bee certainly doesn't disappoint! It's a fully sorted, all-American legend that's benefitted from a detailed, ground-up restoration. It's founded on time-tested Chrysler drivetrain and chassis components. It's fitted with a stroked Hemi that makes 650 dyno-proven horsepower. And if you're a fan of unique, old school muscle, it's what we would call a 'must-have classic'!
BIG, BLACK AND BAD
The beneficiary of a detailed, ground-up restoration that's aged with grace, this ace Coronet is one menacing road warrior! The car's solid fuselage shines through correct Black two-stage which, as Ma MoPar intended, is tailored with a vivid Super Bee Tail Stripe. At the front of that pigment, a dramatic 'bumble bee wing' grille floats four halogen headlights between small parking lamps and a bright Super Bee header. At the sides of that grille, a faceted profile founds factory door handles and a polished driver's mirror above dent-free wheel frames and a requisite Chrysler Pentastar. Above those panels, a familiar Ramcharger hood anchors bright “HEMI” scripts in front of crisp glass that's cased in bright stainless and cleared by satin wipers. And, opposite that bonnet, a Dodge-stamped valence hangs a second Super Bee emblem between traditional taillights, a broad bumper and polished stainless exhaust tips.
426 + 70 = 650
Hoist this Dodge's aggressive hood and you'll find 496 cubic inches of storied Hemi power that was assembled by renowned Fiat Chrysler technician, and overall MoPar muscle car maven, Dave Dudek. Anchored by a date-correct elephant block, that stout stroker twists 650 dyno-proven horsepower into 570 lb./ft. of pavement scorching torque! In case you're wondering, that kind of large power in this relatively large car is good for a 10.819 quarter @ 129.8 MPH, all on bias-ply tires! At the top of the professionally assembled monster, a Hemi Orange air cleaner hides electronically choked dual-quad induction. An aluminum intake feeds cast iron heads, which wear traditional, Organisol-coated valve covers. Those heads cap quality roller rockers, which work well with a smooth roller cam. At the front of that cam, a reliable points distributor shoots spark through loomed ignition cables. At the sides of that distributor, iron exhaust manifolds funnel spent gases in to great sounding, true-dual tail pipes. And a correct Chrysler radiator keeps everything cool.
SOLID OLD SCHOOL FUN
Land this Bee on a lift and a monochromatic undercarriage, complete with solid, Satin Black floors, rises into view. The car's brutal engine leads a tough A727 3-speed, which sifts shifts through a reverse manual valve body. That transmission spins a familiar Chrysler 8.75-inch axle, which is finished with a posi-traction differential and big, 4.10 gears. Below that drivetrain, a familiar Chrysler suspension pairs traditional manual steering with retrofitted Wilwood discs and proven Chrysler drums. Exhaust is handled by aluminized, large-diameter pipes, which jettison cooked dinosaurs through an H-shaped crossover and polished Dynomax mufflers. And power meets the pavement through 15-inch steelies, which spin F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GTs around redline center caps.
RESTORED, RETRO AND RAD
Open this coupe's solid doors and experience a cockpit where legendary MoPar power melds seamlessly with a no frills, no-nonsense driving environment. At the center of the car's floors, correct vinyl benches have been stuffed with fresh padding and topped with correctly pleated covers. In front of those seats, a warp-free dash frames rebuilt Rallye telemetry between small MoPar accessory gauges and Chrysler Solid State audio. Pliable door panels center bright stainless between fade-free carpet and correct Black toppers. And in front of the driver, an ornate Rallye Wheel laps a simple shifter and a crisp MoPar tachometer.
So, let's recap, shall we? A fully sorted restoration that's ready to rock and roll. Sturdy Chrysler drivetrain and chassis components that provide decidedly retro character. And a 496 cubic inch Hemi that creates 650 dyno-proven horsepower. This sinister Dodge isn't just a cool cruiser, it's a cool cruiser that's both fast and exclusive. If you're a fan of quintessential MoPar muscle, you've found your next classic!
