Easy… Getting your hands on a wicked and equally exclusive custom that's unlike anything you'll ever see at your monthly Cars & Coffee meet! A mind-blowing land rocket for gearheads who desire ultimate performance, and want to be seen in one of the coolest cars money can buy, the Lucra LC470 combines Lotus-like weight discipline with eight cylinders of all-American power. And this LC470 is a professionally sorted show stopper that takes speed and exclusivity from a 10 to a 12. Looking for a ride that's off the charts in virtually every way? Welcome to the world of Lucra!
LOW, LUSTWORTHY & LOUD
Bathed in a smooth coat of vivid PPG Big League Blue, this roadster's sublime 3-layer carbon fiber body mimics the curvaceous contours of classic European metal. At the front of the car, an aluminum splitter frames a small grille, technical Hella headlights and LED driving lamps. A long, Lucra-branded hood hangs symmetrical louvers over square side-pipes. Those pipes front Lucra-branded rocker guards beneath sturdy hoops, electronic doors and a tinted windscreen that's finished with a small driver's mirror. And at the back of the car, a second aluminum splitter reflects Hella reverse lamps, carbon fiber tag trim and dual-mode Hella taillights
LC470 + LS7 = 2.7
2.7… As in, 0-60 in a breathtaking 2.7 seconds! That's the kind of speed you get when you strap a 2,000lb. Lucra body to GM's incredible LS7 V8. Twisting 520 horsepower into a seemingly endless well of torque, the blue-trimmed beast rumbling under this custom's sinuous cowl is a 21st century testament to Chevrolet's enduring small block. Founded in GM's very successful Corvette racing program, the brutal mill utilizes a forged crank, titanium rods, hypereutectic pistons and a high-lift cam to flat out whip pretty much anything with four wheels. A perfect amount of oxygen flows from Lucra cold air induction to a familiar GM throttle body, which is bolted to a FAST LSX 102 intake. That wind mixes with fuel on its way to C5R-inspired, CNC-ported cylinder heads, which are built with a combination of titanium and sodium-filled valves. When those valves open, spent gases roar through custom Lucra headers to small Magnaflow mufflers and boxed side pipes. Everything communicates well thanks to Lucra's custom-built aviation grade wiring harness. Oiling comes courtesy of a competition-bred dry sump lubrication system. Cooling is provided by a massive aluminum radiator. And, since every aspect of this 470 was engineering with driving in mind, the entire drivetrain is offset 1.25 inches to the right to compensate for driver weight.
SUPER CAR ENGINEERING
Rule number one of custom car building: an excellent drivetrain isn't worth the metal it's cast from unless it's paired with a competent chassis. Behind this Lucra's hot small block, a tough Tremec TKO600RR utilizes five close-ratio gears to spin a Dana 44 limited-slip with a 3.07 final drive. That drivetrain, along with the car's cockpit, rides inside a 4-inch, laser-cut tube chassis. By fitting those components inside those powder-coated, carbon fiber-framed bones, the car achieves a lower center of gravity and dials up the performance! Speaking of performance, this LC470's super car aspirations are further affirmed by a fully independent, fully adjustable suspension that mixes a triangulated front-clip with aluminum PRO Shocks and C4 Corvette links. 1.3g of lateral acceleration is achieved with the help of power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops, greatly aided by the car's 45/55 weight distribution, are provided by Wilwood 4 and 6-piston calipers, which squeeze a quartet of slotted rotors. And, because of this roadster's whittled profile, 18-inch alloy wheels look positively massive inside 275/35ZR18 and 315/30ZR18 Nitto NT01 radials.
LUXURY
Inside this awesome custom, class is the name of the game as tasteful Connolly Leather creates a stylish complement to the car's brilliant paint. Just over the door bars, aluminum racing seats stretch quilted hides under 5-point safety harnesses. In front of those thrones, a carbon fiber dash founds crisp telemetry above modern pushbutton ignition. At the base of that dash, a carbon fiber tunnel floats quilted leather around a short-throw shifter. A steel floor rolls past adjustable Tilton pedals on the way to custom side panels. And in front of the driver, a detachable Momo steering wheel laps a telescopic column that's fully collapsible in the event of a crash.
Mixing incredible power with world class athleticism and all-American swagger, this LC470 is nothing short of astounding. And when it comes to the driving experience, it's about as much fun as you can have on four wheels! Looking to embarrass a few European supercar owners? It's time you become a proud member of Team Lucra!
